Naan (Baked bread)
Naan is a soft and pillowy Indian style flat bread. Traditionally it is baked in a clay oven called Tandoor. It is generally made using all purpose floor. It goes well with thick gravies, like Chicken curries, Butter Paneer etc. Naan is pretty popular in North America, as much as I have seen and is known widely. Now a days, there are even Naan chips and customized Naan Pizzas as well. From an Indian perspective, there are various types of Naan like : Butter Naan, Garlic Naan, Onion Naan, Cheese Naan, Potato Naan. On occasions like marriages, Naans are an essential part of the dinners/lunches and considered a delicacy. Personally I love garlic butter Naans as my favorite.
Naan has gained so much familiarity that now a days people use it as a base for many other food, such as Naan Pizza and Naan thins. Naan is now a known bread in Canada, as much as I have seen.
